Dave Clark

David Clark grew up in southern New Hampshire during the music-rich 1970’s and was exposed to many styles of music in the ground-breaking Baptist Church where his father was pastor. He loved the great rock and blues-based guitarists of the era and was active inbands in high school, covering songs from the likes of Led Zeppelin, Aerosmith, Lynyrd Skynyrd, and soaking up the guitar genius of Jeff Beck and Pat Travers. Dave’s family moved to California in 1985 where he studied music in Pasadena, under jazz greats Bobby Bradford (Ornette Coleman, John Carter) and George Shearing guitarist Dave Kuntz. He also studied Music Production at Cal State Dominguez Hills in the late 1980’s.Dave has done extensive work with contemporary Christian bands, worked as producer with Slovenian singer/songwriting legend Andrej Šifrer, and, plays guitar, co-produces numerous album projects with Slovenian composer Rok Golob and their Funk/Gospel/R&B band Soul Activation, which tours Central Europe regularly. Dave also works closely with Grammy/Oscar winner Christopher Cross on guitar stuff and projects featuring guest artists including Michael McDonald and guitarist Eric Johnson.Dave has performed with British guitar icon Caleb Quaye of Elton John, Hookfoot and Hall & Oates fame, with members of The Dubliners, with Stevie Wonder, original Ink Spots and Duke Ellington bassist Harold Jackson, Michael W. Smith, and with many other artists in the U.S. and Europe. Since 2003, Dave performs monthly with Los Angeles Gospel group Firm Soundation at the House of Blues Gospel Brunches in Hollywood, Anaheim, Las Vegas and San Diego. He also makes guest appearances with Christopher Cross and performs with his own 9-piece 70’s cover band, The Salem Boyz in the Boston area. Dave is thrilled to be a member of The Midnight Rider Band, covering the legendary Dickey Betts, whose classic, southern-rock songs, warm rhythms and melodic leads on the Gibson Les Paul have left a deep and lasting influence on much of the blues-based rock that would follow the Allman Brothers Band.

The signature harmony guitar leads, the honest and pure, story-telling southern song themes, and the rich and complete sound from this timeless and uniquely American band, all deeply touch my song-loving heart and my music-loving soul.
